授業概要 CJSP/TAISI Course
This course is an introduction to concepts of intercultural communication and their application to various contexts. The course will be highly interactive:  students will be engaged in experiential learning activities, analysis of case studies and cross-cultural interactions, presentations, and small group and whole group discussions.


授業の到達目標 ・ To examine the basic issues of intercultural communication in both domestic and global contexts.
・ To deepen understanding of intercultural topics, including perception, communication styles, and values.
・ To explore the ways these concepts and issues can be applied to the students’ personal lives.

Participating in experiential activities

Class 3 : Culture Shock and Cultural Adjustment
Learning about the process of culture shock and intercultural adjustment

Defining culture and exploring various cultures around us

Class 5 : Perception
Learning to see the world through different perspectives

Class 6 : Film and Discussion
Watching a film from intercultural perspectives

Class 7 : Generalizations and Stereotypes
Understanding how stereotypes impede intercultural communication

Learning various ways of communication with and without words

成績評価方法
割合 評価基準
試験: 30% Essay test
レポート: 20% Reflective report in each class
平常点評価: 30% Attendance, participation, and contribution
その他: 20% Group presentation
備考・関連URL The order and contents of the lectures are subject to change.
Students must attend 60 % of classes to receive credit. They will be required to actively participate in all class activities and discussions.
