授業概要

【CJSP/TAISI Course】

This course aims to develop students’ knowledge of theories and ideas that support the collaboration between international development and business activities. It explores important socio-economic backgrounds, which have fostered and advance these theories and ideas, and key international initiatives, which have been accelerating multi-stakeholders’ collaboration. This course also introduces some practices, to which these theories and ideas are applied, and considers to the extent that business approaches can contribute to improving the social problems concerned. This course helps students to build a solid foundation of knowledge about what supports the current trend of social business and its relevant concepts that pursue a dual mission of social and economic goals in our connected world.

授業の到達目標 Through this course, the students will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of key ideas related to social businesses;
- demonstrate an ability to understand, investigate and discuss the underlying assumptions of different theoretical approaches and to compare them; and
- improve written and oral communication skills in order to present clear arguments based upon both theoretical and empirical materials.
事前・事後学習の内容 It is essential that students do the required preparatory reading for in-class discussions. Students are expected to carefully read and study the materials at home. It is strongly recommended that students take notes when they read them. Note-taking is not simply a means to record information, but it is also an important part of your learning. It will also be useful in your future career.
