Subtitle Religion and American Society
Course Outline  This course will provide an overview of the various religious traditions in the United States, including American Indian religions, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Scientology / new age religions, and atheism. The course will be conducted entirely in English, and students should be prepared to speak in English each week.
Objectives  Students will learn about the various religious traditions and their social contexts in the United States. Students will also utilize their English-language reading, writing, listening, and discussion skills.
before/after course of study  There will be short weekly reading assignments in English. Students will also produce a group presentation and a research project during the semester.
