副題 Teaching Content in English: The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model
授業概要 This course, focusing on practical aspects of CBI/CLIL, discusses how we can make content comprehensible for English language learners. It covers a full range of the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model, which has been used in schools mainly in the US for more than 20 years. Discussions include the concept of the model, lesson preparation, comprehensible input, strategies, interaction, lesson delivery, and assessment. Following the SIOP model, students are to demonstrate a few short CBI/CLIL lessons (i.e., microteaching).
授業の到達目標 1) To understand the concept of the SIOP model to make content comprehensible for English learners;
2) To apply the SIOP model for the development of lessons, materials, tasks, and assessment tools to be used in the CBI/CLIL classroom;
3) To develop and demonstrate CBI/CLIL lessons;
4) To do research on the SIOP model.
