授業概要
Japanese Development Experiences in the International Context: In Support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

*This lecture course is a designated for "JICA Development Studies Program (JICA-DSP)."

This course examines the Japanese development and modernization experiences in various sectors focusing on the relationship with the international society. Instructors from different policy sectors including industry, trade, ICT, education, health and politics, approach and analyse this theme. Paricipating students can learn the history of Japanese development comprehensively in this course.  This course will also try to discuss the potentials and challenges of utilizing Japan's development experience in supporting developing countries' efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while leaving no one behind.

There are 7 instructors from Waseda GSAPS for this course. There will be guest speakers from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
授業の到達目標 The brief history of Japan's modernization and development will be understood by the participants.
Japan's development experience in a number of sectors will be assessed by the participants.
The potentials and challenges of utilizing Japan's development experience in supporting developing countries' efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while leaving no one behind, will be discussed by the participants.

レポート: 51% A research paper. You should choose a topic related to one of the sessions, and write your end-term research paper to be evaluated by one of the course instructors. Please indicate the course instructor's name in the file name. The end-term research paper should consist of around 2,000 words, excluding the bibliography. Please add a summary of no more than 200 words before the main text. You can submit it as a file in either MS Word or PDF file.
平常点評価: 14% Attendance and proactive participation in discussion. 0-2 point for each session.
その他: 35% A reading note (a paragraph of less than 200 words), with some reference to the required reading materials every week. You need to submit a reading note through the CourseNavi before attending each session. Late submission is not allowed. 0-5 points for each session.
