The purpose of this class is to explore the mechanism of civil dispute resolution system in Japan.  Students are expected to participate in class discussion actively and submit a research paper in the end of the term.  The students are required to submit a research paper with about ten pages (double spaced).

授業の到達目標  Students are expected to understand the basic mechanism of civil dispute resolution system in Japan both in and outside court and critically analyze problems of the current system.

レポート: 40%  Final research paper. Evaluation is based on whether a student adequately explores the issues of the selected topic, and adds critical analysis on the current state. It is recommended to analyze the issue from comparative law aspects.
平常点評価: 30%  Class participation.
その他: 30%  Student presentation based on the topic on which the student planned to write the final paper.
