授業概要 The objective of this course is to provide an essential guide to written and oral communication in English in science and engineering. It consists of three parts: (1) fundamentals (basic rules and guidelines) of technical writing, (2) the process of writing papers/reports, and (3) fundamentals of technical presentations. Students will learn these principles and guidelines and, toward the end of the course, will learn how to apply them. In addition, they will be trained in the aural comprehension of basic scientific expressions. They are required to submit a short paper and give (or just submit, depending on the number of students) a presentation in the field of science and engineering.
授業の到達目標 Students will be able to write a short paper or report that is comprehensible while meeting basic guidelines of technical writing and also to give an unsophisticated technical presentation in English.
