副題 Field Study of Sustainable Design
授業概要

Understanding Nature though Culture shouldbe analyzed the connotation of environment as a combination with Natural Science,Social Science and Human Sciences.

Students can acquire knowledge about thelocal sustainability from the lesson of Japanese experiments of environmentaldestruction and its recovery system by lecture and fieldwork.

Participation in the fieldwork is necessaryfor all students in this course period.

This course has four parts as below.

Final presentation providing feedback tothe local communities is essential as a final evaluation.

 

*Student who want to take this course are requiredto send a reason for your application through MyWaseda.

*We provide a chance to go to field work inthe rural community of middle mountainous area in Japan and manage all thestudents' revenue of traffic.

*This course of "Nature and Culture"is serialized in two course of spring and autumn semester. It is not ourobligation to take a set of two semester

*Youcan get both of the serialized course of "Nature and Culture" andalso you can start whichever semester. 

 

*You need to submit the reason of application through MyWaseda form if you want to take this course.

Understanding the concept of cultural environment from the experiments of natural destruction and recovery in Japanese society.
Develop the thought on a rural and urban relationship, multi-cultural diversity
Active participation, discussion, expression and sharing
Readings the basic text about the environmental ethics and cultural anthropology
Utilize original web site of this lecture and spread your thinking to the public.
事前・事後学習の内容 Preparing to read and research about the field site, Takahata and it's organic agricultural movement.

PART.UNDERSTANDING OUR GENERAL CONCEPT OF OUR CULTRAL FIELD SCIENCE                                                                                        

1) Orientation / Purpose of this course,understanding environment through culture based on the history of Japaneseenvironmental destruction and the renovation by endogenous development                                                                                    

2)Paradigm of Endogenous Development  through never-ending efforts from JapaneseLocal People,(Sharing and Distributing each concept to the other person)                                                                                                                                                      

PART. Japanese Environmental Problem, From Past to Future                       

) Method of Concept work 1;Model Case forimaging specific concept of "Environment" to understand themulti-cultural study.                                                                

4)Studies of Japanese EnvironmentalProblem, the process of damage for Human and Nature
